POST OPERATORY INDICATIONS:
DENTAL SURGERIES AND IMPLANTS

Once the procedure has been completed, put pressure on the gauce (placed by the specialist) for 20 minutes. Remove and DO NOT place anything else.
DO NOT SPIT OR DO MOUTH RINSES during the first 48 hours after the procedure, this to make sure a blood clot forms (and the bleeding stops).
You can brush your teeth, just avoid the surgical area.
Place ice in the treated area ONLY THE FIRST DAY icing it 5 minutes and resting 2 minute intervals while you are still numb. Do not place ice for more time since it can burn or irritate your skin. Keep placing ice until before going to sleep.
For the next 48 hours after the procedure, it is suggested you sleep with your HEAD ELEVATED placing two pillows under your neck. It is normal for an inflammation process to take place up to 72 hours after the procedure.
Diet:

FOOD ALLOWED
Steamed rice
Soups
Boiled/steamed vegetables
Grilled chicken, fish or beef.
Canned tuna
Water-based ice cream

FOOD NOT ALLOWED
Deep fried foods
Dairy
Foods with seeds (strawberry, kiwi, tomato, chia, etc.)
No coffee or carbonated drinks (soda)
Take your food/beverages cold or room temperature, NOT HOT.

DO NOT drink beverages with a straw. Drink straight from the glass, cup or using a spoon. DO NOT smoke. DO NOT drink alcoholic beverages or spicy food. Follow the diet for a minimum of 7 days.
Avoid touching the surgical site with your tongue or fingers. Chew food on the opposite side of the procedure. In case the procedures have been on both sides, eat a soft diet.
DO NOT exercise or tire yourself. DO NOT bend over or heavy lifting until stitches have been removed.
